Our Story

CAFE NOIR is a Bookstore and Cafe. We are working to open doors by Summer 2023. Our shelves will be filled with books by Black, PoC, LGBTQI+ authors. Along with amazing books, our cups will also be filled with ethically sourced and fair traded coffee. If you would like to support head over to our Donations page. Meet the owner

Hi, I am Jasmine. First, I want to say THANK YOU! The vision for Cafe Noir came from an essential need for community. Entering my first year of Graduate school at The University of Memphis I longed for a space with an inviting ambience and coffee for those late nights. My love for literature grew once I got the opportunity to teach poetry and African American Literature to the youth. Throughout this journey I have grown to understand the importance of literature and the need for a space like Cafe Noir! I hope you will join me in making this vision a reality.
